Some Relevant Patchnotes (to me)

Engineering:

The PetBombling and Lil' Smoky non-combat pets are no longer Bind-on-Pickup.

This should probably be a nice way to make some money as an engineer. I am probably to cook a few of these up and throw them on the Auction House. Hopefully the rest of the engineers on my server and faction are too dumb to read patch notes.

Vitality: Now boosts Stamina by 3/6/9%, up from 2/4/6%. Strength and expertise benefits have not changed.

As a tank, extra hitpoints are extra hitpoints. We had falled a bit behind the other tanking classes as far as hitpoints go. This should do a decent job of fixing that. Darraxus want more stamina, DARRAXUS SMASH!!!!!

Revenge: Damage done by this ability (base and scaling) increased by 50%

Revenge will once again overtake devastate on the priority system. It should still be behind shield slam, but we will see what kinds of numbers we put up. Once the patch hits, I would advise speccing back into improved Revenge and getting the Glyph again if you dont still have it.

The Random Battleground system has been added! Similar to the Random Dungeon system in the Dungeon Finder, players can now queue for a random Battleground.

Sweet. Now I don't have to agonize over what I want to play and end up doing none of them. And it will really help on the queue times for specific battlegrounds.

Winning a Battleground using the Random Battleground option for the first time in a day will award players with 30 Honorable Kills worth of additional Honor currency and 25 Arena points.

Another nice little change. The good thing is that even if you lose, you can keep playing until you win to get the daily done.

Battlegrounds will no longer award Marks of Honor.Players with existing Marks of Honor can still turn them in to their respective faction's quest givers, including individual marks for those who may have more marks for one Battleground than another.Items which previously required Marks of Honor will have their costs adjusted to remove these requirements.

YES. I hate Battleground Marks. I hated griding them for the mounts. For the I had to run 20 WSG to get enough of those marks to help my wife get her Mechanostrider. Honor is easy. Marks suck ass if your faction never wins in a specific BG.

InscriptionMost recipes that required 2 inks now only require 1

Good. This will help leveling my inscription on my Horde Warrior as well as make it a no brainer to produce some glyphs that would have been borderline to create before.

The Cooldown has been removed from creating Titansteel.

This doesnt really affect me, but it will affect people who sold their cooldowns on the regular as well as the people who bought them. This is most likely a case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. It should also help lower the price of BOE crafted epics.

On a side note......I finally flipped a Orb of Deception that I bought for 750 gold for 1300 gold. Had a guy send me an ingame mail making the offer. Profit is profit.

What if....

I were to do a podcast. I have been thinking about doing one for a while. It will most likely be a two person podcast with my sister. She is much better at recording voices, fraps, etc. So not only is she my healing bitch, but also my techie bitch.

Anyways, on with the question: What kinds of things would you like to hear me talk about if I were to do a podcast.

It can pretty much be anything.

Tanking
Healing
Auctioneering
Why I am so handsome
etc.
etc.
etc.

If there is something that you would like to hear my sis and I talk about, just leave a comment on this post.

Thanks.

You Can Never Go Back

Apparently, you can never go back. My Warlock has been my PvP toon since the time I hit 70 with him during BC. Back in those days, SL/SL was the shit. I did pretty decently in arenas and even earned a title. Apparently, I cannot go back to those days.

I have had two Destro Specs since hitting 80 on my Warlock a while back. One PvP and one PVE. I really wanted to try out affliction again as a PvP spec. Either I just don't got it, it is a bad team comp to be affliction, or affliction is just inferior for PvP these days.

Affliction was always the outlast spec. It still is, but it just doesnt do enough damage. There were many times that I just needed that little extra bit of burst and my target would have been dead. Instead, they go healed up to full and we died.

My arena partner these days is my sister. Holy Paladin specced as Holy. I think that most of the arena healadins are actually prot for better survivability and crowd control. Regardless, I just can't kill targets fast enough without my sister running out of mana as Affliction.

As Destro we went 4-6 last week. This week as Affliction, I think we went 2-8 or 3-7 and the matches we did win seemed to take forever. It was craptastic.

I anticipate going back to Destro for PvP as much as I hate it.

Doing Arenas again brought back some old feeling. Mosty hatred. I hate arenas. They are fun when you are doing well, but when you aren't, it is the most frustrating aspect of WoW. Seriously. Arenas make me want to stab my eyeballs out. There were times when I would fo 100 games in a week. I dont see that happening ever again.

On a less shitty topic, my Horde Warrior dinged 68 last night in Netherstorm. That means that I will be headed to Northrend the next time that I play. I have already picked up some decent ilvl 200 blues on the cheap and hope to be ready for tanking immediately at 80.

I really enjoy my tanking, but I am not a huge fan of many of the BC instances. They were always so long and drawn out with piles and piles of trash mobs. I did Mana Tombs yesterday, which I imagine will be the last BC dungeon I will be hitting.

Anyways, that is enough of my ranting. Carry on.

Horde vs Alliance

I will let you in on a little secret. They are exactly the same when it comes to the people who play either faction. As Bon Jovi once said, only the names will change.

Different servers have different population balances, but they still manage to get your run of the mill trolls and such on each of them. Only they have different names than the ones on your other servers.

Horde is not more mature than Alliance. Alliance is not more mature than Horde. They both have about the same number of idiots. The idiots are the ones who fill up much of trade chat. You have people making Anal jokes on every server. There is Chuck Norris chat in Barrens on every server. There are people spamming WTB stacks of Eternal blah blah, Frozen Orbs, hibbity bibitty for X gold per stack.

There are Ninjas. There are trolls. There are morons. They are all available to you regardless of what server you are on.

If someone asks a question about their class in trade chat such as "What is better for a Ret Paladin, strength or crit?", no matter the server you will get people answering "Spirit" or MP5.

So, if you think the grass is greener on the other side, think again. If you plan on faction or server transfering, you should look at the reasons for doing so.

1) Because of friends on another server?

2) Looking for better PvE progression?

3) Want to go from PvP to PvE or vice versa?

4) Want to not look stupid like every race on your faction?

These are some of the legit reasons for wanting to faction or server change. The one that will be a big waste of money is if you are looking for the "more mature" players. You can get that in a guild, but not on a server as a whole.

If you like Horde, play Horde. If you like Alliance, play Alliance. Don't think the grass is going to be greener, because you will run into the same shitheads on both sides.

Told You it Was Coming

After the big Devastate buff, everyone wrote off Revenge. Well, it is getting buffed as well. The two of these combined will be huge for our damage output.

Revenge: Damage done by this ability (base and scaling) increased by 50%.

Dont give up on Revenge just yet. It is gonna get bigger and badder. If you are leveling a Warrior, it should have never left you rotation to start with.

Happy Friday Bitches!

Hope you all have a great loot filled weekend and tons to write about come Monday. Throw away post today, so here is a video! Enjoy.

Dont make me do it. I warned you.

Oh, and go read the post about how my sister is my healing bitch here. Also a video of us in action in Nagrand.

My Milkshake Brings All the Pugs to the Yard

Yes, that was a Kelis reference....and I hate that fucking song.....but it fits. I hate that song up there with some of the awful shit that Fergie and Gwen Stefani have been putting out for the last few years.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I love being a tank. Leveling another Warrior tank has reignited the joy of playing around in the new LFG tool. I do instances pretty much exclusively with my sister, who is a Disc. Priest. This means that healing and tanking are both covered. That means that we just need to fill in three shitty dps and we will be rocking all the way to the top.

Well, hopefully the DPS isnt that shitty, but I have come to expect very little out of many of these toons.

I usually put my vigilance on whichever toon has the most heirlooms and then readjust after the first couple of pulls if needed.

The awesome thing about LFG at this level is the same thing that is awesome at the cap....instant queue. I can get into a dungeon with the quickness, especially when I have my sister in the group with me. It seems like a lot more people queue up as DPS. Probably because it is easier for questing when you are a DPS toon (debatable once you get to a certain level unless of course you are a healer....then DPS is always better for leveling).

The thing about the pugs I run with while leveling.....is that I dont want to see them again. They are single serving friends. After the run, I leave group and reform again with my sister. Even if the group was pretty decent. I want to see what else there is to offer. Maybe there is someone out there even more awesome. Maybe just more fail, but I want to see all of the fail as well as the awesome. Having wonderfully short runs with awesome players is very nice.....but not all that grat for blog material.

So, in the interest of getting the shittiest fucking players available, I will continue to use LFG. I love isntances. I love laughing. I love lauging at shitty players in instances. Sounds like an all around win.

And the most consistently bad class is......

Deathknights. I have been doing a lot of leveling on my Horde Warrior. By far the most represented and most terrible class has been the DK.

Deathtards have easily overtake huntards on the totem pole of bad.

Almost every group that I get into will have at least one DK. Usually, they are bottom DPS and damage done....even below me. I would say 75 percent of the time they are the lowest DPS in the group.

Recount usually shows that they are doing more than 50 percent regular melee attacks.

At least 50 percent of these Deathtards are using at least one piece of spellpower gear.

The highest DPS I usually run into at these lower levels are Warlocks. They seem to usually do in the 600-900 dps range in the mid 60s.

Rogues and Shaman also seem to be generally bad. About 20 percent of the Shaman I have run with have not dropped totems. 100 percent of those no totem hacks have been Enhancement.

The only good Shaman I have seen while leveling have been Elemental.

Bad DPS always attacks what you are not attacking.

20 percent of Hunters seem to have their pets on aggressive....yay for pulling mobs from across the room. I can generally handle it, but is it really necessary?

100 percent of rogues I have run with are combat spec. Their DPS is also VERY BAD.

I have yet to run with any Druid not specced Boomkin. Not a single feral in the bunch.

If what I have seen is any indication of what is coming up the pipe for level 80s.....be prepared for many bad DKs invading your random LFGs. They will be the ones in full T9 doing 800 dps. The sad thing is that some of them actually have heirloom gear......which means their bad has probably been passed off as another class on many other people.

Deathards are the new Huntards.......only worse.

WoW Fit

So, the Nintendo Wii has something called WiiFit. You play a video game and get excercise at the same time.

I think it is time we had a WoWFit.

Think about how much time that you waste just flying around here and there in WoW. Or waiting around in a city waiting for the random queue for your dps.

That is time that could better be spend doing some little exercises.

This is just an opinion of mine, but many people that I see quitting WoW quit because they cut out other parts of their lives. Things like excercise.

Next time you are on a flight path somewhere, do some pushups. Do some crunches. Do a few jumping jacks. It is in the comfort of your own home and you won't have to worry about someone thinking you look ridiculous.

They make addons to play games while you play WoW.....usually during a flight somewhere. If I had the know-how, I think I would write a new addon.

It would be a pretty simple one and would just give you something to do during idle time. 5 minute flight across the continent? 100 crunches, 30 pushups, 100 jumping jacks.

It could even be done with some very small weights. Little barbell curls and such.

Maybe this wouldnt be for everyone, but I think it is a pretty damn good idea.

Just another way to make you feel better for doing something that you enjoy immensely, but may see as a guilty pleasure.

Monday.....God's Little Joke to Man

Sometimes, I feel like Monday is God's little way of saying "LOL". Like when you try to put your razor into the toothbrush jar after shaving. I just get the feeling that he is sitting next to one of those posters with the cat hanging from the curtains "Hang in there!".

Anyways, enough on that. Back to the WoW talk. On Monday. And I think my bosses boss will be at work today...../sigh.

Well, this weekend I gained two levels on Warrbringer to raise him up to level 65. In the instances I am running, my sister and I are by far the most competent players. Sometimes, we get a pretty badass DPS, but usually we are stuck with mouth breathers. Thankfully, the Outlands leveling content isnt tuned to actually need good dps, but I have yet to finish last in damage or DPS while tanking my way up.

In other Horde server news, I got my little Druid Moomender to 30....which means Nomnomhealz the Awesome got to ding him up to 59. He is sitting in Hellfire now at level 60 after some help picking up decent gear from my sister. Speaking of my sister....she got hacked...by Blizzard. Goes to show that sometimes they just arent paying attention to what they are doing. Good ole head up the ass syndrome.

I also did the new Holliday boss for the first time. There were no wipes with me tanking, my sister healing, and my wife dpsing along with two other random DPS. We were really hoping for one of the vanity items, but no luck. The funny thing is that my wife took less damage than anyone else. I guess you either get it or you don't when it comes to standing in the bad. My super casual wife apparently gets it better than most.

That pretty much sums up my weekend. How was yours?

The Baby Tank: Spec and Glyphs

I am only going to go through what to put into prot as you are leveling. I will leave it to you to decide when to put each point where. You will also have to figure out where to put the points after the prot tree (Prot Tip: Armory a good tank).

Spec:

5/5 Shield Specialization: Increases your chance to block attacks with a shield by 5% and has a 100% chance to generate 5 rage when a block, dodge, or parry occurs.

3/3 Improved Thunderclap:
Reduces the cost of your Thunder Clap ability by 4 rage points and increases the damage by 30% and the slowing effect by an additional 10%.

3/3 Incite:

Increases the critical strike chance of your Heroic Strike, Thunder Clap and Cleave abilities by 15%.

5/5 Anticipation:Increases your Dodge chance by 5%

2/2 Improved Revenge:
Increases damage of your Revenge ability by 20% and gives a 50% chance to stun the target for 3 sec.

5/5 Toughness:

Increases your armor value from items by 10% and reduces the duration of all movement slowing effects by 30%.

Last Stand:
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost.

2/2 Shield Mastery:
When activated, this ability temporarily grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 sec. After the effect expires, the health is lost.

Concussion Blow:
Stuns the opponent for 5 sec and deals [0.38 * AP] damage (based on attack power).

2/2 Gag Order:
Gives your Shield Bash and Heroic Throw abilities a 100% chance to silence the target for 3 sec and increases the damage of your Shield Slam ability by 10%.

5/5 One Hand Specialization (not the one that some players seem to have in real life :P):
Increases physical damage you deal when a one-handed melee weapon is equipped by 10%.

Vigilance:
Focus your protective gaze on a group or raid target, reducing their damage taken by 3% and transfers % of the threat they cause to you. In addition, each time they are hit by an attack your Taunt cooldown is refreshed. Lasts 30 min. This effect can only be on one target at a time.

2/2 Improved Defensive Stance:
While in Defensive Stance all spell damage is reduced by 6% and when you Block, Parry or Dodge an attack you have a 100% chance to become Enraged, increasing Physical damage caused by 10% for 12 sec.

3/3 Vitality:
Increases your total Strength and Stamina by 6% and your Expertise by 6.

WARBRINNNGEERRRR:
Your Charge, Intercept and Intervene abilities are now usable while in combat and in any stance. In addition, your Intervene ability will remove all movement impairing effects.

Devastate:
Sunder the target's armor causing the Sunder Armor effect. In addition, causes 120% of weapon damage plus 202 for each application of Sunder Armor on the target. The Sunder Armor effect can stack up to 5 times.

3/3 Critical Block:
Your successful blocks have a 40% chance to block double the normal amount and increases your chance to critically hit with your Shield Slam ability by an additional 10%.

3/3 Sword and Board:
Increases the critical strike chance of your Devastate ability by 15% and when your Devastate or Revenge ability deals damage it has a 30% chance of refreshing the cooldown of your Shield Slam ability and reducing its cost by 100% for 5 sec.

2/2 Damage Shield:
Whenever you take damage from or block a melee attack you cause damage equal to 20% of your block value.

Shockwave:

Sends a wave of force in front of the warrior, causing [0.75 * AP] damage (based on attack power) and stunning all enemy targets within 10 yards in a frontal cone for 4 sec.

So those are the talents you need. I think with looking at the talents themselves, you can figure out why they are good to have. At end game, you may consider taking 2 points out of improved revenge and putting them elsewhere.

Glyphs:

Glyph of Revenge: Use: After using Revenge, your next Heroic Strike costs no rage.

Pretty obvious why this is good. You will be using this ability A LOT in both dungeons and while soloing.

Glyph of Cleaving:
Use: Increases the number of targets your Cleave hits by 1.

Nice for AOEing thing. Especially in instances.

Glyph of Thunderclap:
Use: Increases the radius of your Thunder Clap ability by 2 yards.

A larger radius on your Thunderclap will help out a lot.

Glyph of Battle:
Use: Increases the duration of your Battle Shout ability by 2 min.

This will be nice not having to constantly reapply your shout. Later, you will probably replace this with the glyph of Command.

So, there you go. Get out there and get to tanking.

The Buff and Nerf Cycle

What happens when you get buffed and nerfed at the same time?

Nobody is unaffected by the Nerf and Buff cycle. Every class is part of it. Every player is part of it.

Even Jong, the Illest Ret Pally can't bubble out of Nerfs. And he is ill. And not ill in the sick way.....but ill in the sik way. And perhaps a little sick in the head.

I have seen every class I play go through a roller coaster of ups and downs. One thing is for sure. The buff and nerf trains are never going off the tracks. People will complain and things will change.

Paladins have seen so many buffs and nerfs that it is ridiculous. Ret Pallys in Vanilla and BC were generally laughed at. That is until they got buffed on the patch just before Wrath. Then they became demi-gods. Then they got nerfed. Then buffed. Then nerfed. Then their DPS mechanics changed. And changed some more. Then some nerfs. And some buffs.

Prot Paladins were not very viable until about midway through BC. If you were a Paladin and were not Holy, you were not going to be raiding way back when. Now they are a very sought after class.

Warrior tanks used to be "the man". Not we are possibly the weakest of the tanking classes when it comes to putting out big dps numbers while tanking. In my opinion, it is still the most fun tanking class, but that is a matter of opinion. For most people, underpowered is not fun.

It seems that pretty much all hybrid classes are the ones that get buffed and nerfed the most. Druids were almost all Resto back in Vanilla. Then they were good tanks and healers in BC. Then they were the top DPS in Wrath and got nerfed. They were the highest HP and Armor tank and got nerfed. They had the some of the best heals and got nerfed. I actually think that Druids may be the most nerfed class since BC. Rolling lifeblooms, huge health pools, and out dpsing pure dps classes will do that. I still love playing my Druid.

Pure DPS classes have gone through a lot of changes as well. Warlock sucked in Vanilla. They then became beasts in both PVP and PvE in BC only to get the nerf bat again. Then they were very low DPS once they hit 80 in Wrath. Then they were buffed. Then nerfed etc. etc.

Deathknights have pretty much seen a long line of nerfs stemming from them being incredibly OP at the beginning of the expansion.

Every class has felt it many many times. There is no point in crying over spilled milk. You cup will be refilled soon enough. Where there were nerfs, there will be buffs.

The only thing that changes are the people who are complaining.

Leveling as Prot.....the Low Levels

The baby tank in action

The low levels of leveling as a prot Warrior almost arent even leveling as a prot warrior. From 1-9, you are a Warrior wearing a shield and one handed weapon. You are not really a prot warrior. You only become "prot" once you hit level 10 and get your first talent point.

There are a few ways you can go about Prot leveling. You can go for damage or go for mitigation. I personally like to follow the tree in a manner that will give me the best tanking talents for instances.

Damage at the low levels. It sucks. The upside is that Prot is no worse really than Arms or Fury at the low levels. And once you start picking up tanking talents, you will be much less squishy.

When you first zone into the world, you have Heroic Strike. Heroic strike sucks ass, but what else do you have to burn your rage on?

Before long, you will be picking up Battle Shout. I recommend keeping this up at all times. It will help make your damage a little less sucky.

Then you will get a talent that is shit later, but great at the lower levels. Rend. Rend will not be in an instance tanking rotation later in the game. Early on, however, it is good for both tanking threat and soloing. In the first 29 or so levels, you dont have many abilities to use those global cooldowns on. Rend is a decent one.

Thunderclap will also be obtained relatively early. If you have tons of rage or are tanking multiple mobs, it is a good ability to use. It will also be your bread and butter if you are AOE grinding. Cleave is will replace Heroic strike for when you are dealing with multiple mobs.

Early on, you will not have Warbringer. This means that you cannot charge in combat. I recommend charging into combat whenever you can to generate more rage. Rage is a bit more of a problem at lower levels.

When you hit level 14 (edited, thanks Leah), you will hear the angels sing when you pick up Revenge. In its current condition, it is worse than devastate, but you will not pick that talent up for a while still. Revenge will be used every time it is up. It is good damage per rage. I would recommend picking up the glyph of revenge once you do get revenge. Free heroic strikes are win.

I prefer to stay in defensive stance once you pick it up. Do not use slam while you are in Battle Stance. It has a cast time. Since it has a cast time, it means that you can't block dodge or parry while you are casting it.

This is just my take on what you should be doing while leveling prot early on. Feel free to ask questions should you have them.

Leveling as a Prot Warrior

WARRIOR TIER 11 2 set bonus: Your taunt is never on cooldown because the boss is too busy laughing at you.

Leveling as a Prot Warrior is actually pretty fun......once you get past a certain level. I think 40 is when it starts getting better as that is when you pick up shield slam. Punching people in the face with a shield is the shit.

Before that, leveling as Prot is just as shitty as leveling as Fury or Arms. You have rage problems galore and not enough damage abilities. Heroic strike spamming is FTL.

Shield slam is really good, but where is really gets interesting is when you can pick up sword and board for juicy Shield Slam Procs.

I am not going to lay out an entire guide today as I am way too busy being delicious. I am just going to put out some rotations for prot warriors once they start to get into the magic levels (past 40).

Soloing: Questing is good. If you are just hitting Outland or Northrend, you will be picking up tons of upgrades. Your rotation is pretty much going to stay the same once you hit Outland. You are going to charge in (WARRRRBRIIINNGAAAAAAA) and shield slam them in the face. Hit revenge whenever it procs as it is very good damage as well as fairly low rage. I still run with the glyph of revenge for the free Heroic Strike after the revenge.

You will also want to spam devastate as much as you can. Not only does it hit pretty damn hard (critting for 1400+ for me as a 63 Warrior on my Horde toon), but it has a chance to proc Shield Slam if you are talented into Sword and Board.....and you better be.

If you are AOE grinding, depending on the number of mobs, you will work in Shockwave and Thunderclap in there. I would also use the glyph of cleave and make sure to cleave in all high rage situations.

Groups: Groups are easy. There is an AOE rotation and a single target rotation.

The AOE rotation for me is charge (once again WARRRBRINGAAAAAA) and Thunderclap. Back up a few steps and shockwave them. Remember that you will not be generating much rage for a few seconds as the mobs are stunned. When they are unstunned pop your shield block (nice AOE threat with damage shield). If you are drowning in rage feel free to spam cleave (once again, I glyph for cleave). While hitting Thunderclap every cooldown and spamming cleave, I like to hit shield slam and Devastate with every other available global cooldown. Remember not to use shockwave again if the mobs are going to be dying quickly. You want it to be available for the next group.

The single target rotation is simple. Charge in (or shoot if you dont like charging bosses) and shield slam them in the face. I then like to devastate spam for lots of Sword and Board procs and Heroic Strike when I am over 50 rage. If you are getting low on rage and revenge lights up, use it. Especially if you are glyphed for it.

Devastate was buffed to the point where some people are going to stop using Revenge entirely. Not I. I have a feeling that Revenge will be getting buffed before too long as well (I believe Ghost Crawler said as much). So, may as well keep it in your rotation for now (especially if you are talented and glyphed for it).

That concludes today's prot Warrior leveling guide. Get out there and shield slam some faces.

Outlands Time

So, I got my Horde Warrior to 63 over the weekend. When I got to Outlands, my sister hopped on her priest and turned off her XP (she is level 66). First thing I needed to do was pick up some less craptastic gear. I entered Outlands with about 4500 hit points. Not exactly epic for a tank. The good thing about Outlands is that you find a lot of upgrades rather quickly. It is also kind of sad that same level dungeon stuff from the old content is made obsolete by some green items.

The picture above is us questing in Zangarmarsh. In some places, Shadowform is like PvP camo. There were times when I was like "WTF where are you, and she would be standing right next to me." So far I have tanked ramps a bunch of times, Blood Furnace once, and Slave pens a few times. All of the runs went very well. I am now rocking over 8k health. There was not a single dungeon that I went to where I was last in damage. Sometimes, I was even first in damage. All of those spellpower DKs probably did not help.

I also decided to get a Druid power leveled to 30 so that Nomnomhealz can grant him the levels. My Alliance Druid is named Rootmender.....so I named my Horde one Moomender. The name was actually my sister's idea. Once I hit 10 we headed over to SFK where we were doing 6.5 minute runs of the entire dungeon. I am sitting at 17 currently and we will be headed to SM once I get to level 20.

Overall, it was a pretty good weekend. How was yours.

Since when does Social = Bad Player

Social:

1) pertaining to, devoted to, or characterized by a friendly companionship or relations.

Since the beggining of his blog, Gevlon has called bad players Socials. Being social has nothing to do with having a shitty dps rotation or not knowing how to make gold. WoW is a social game. Everyone in the game is social to an extent as they are interacting with the virtual society. I know there are a few true solo players out there, but socializing is just about unavoidable in an MMO.

Ensidia is social. They are a guild. Guilds are social by nature if they are a casual leveling guild or a hard core raiding guild. Without social interaction, there would be no raids. There would be no PvP. There would be no WoW. Using the auction house is a social activity as well. You are selling goods that benefit other people. If you were truly antisocial, you would just vendor everything.

He may preach on and on about how socials are M&S, but he is a social himself. He writes a blof FFS. How much more social can you get. He responds to his commenters. Once again social. Does that mean he is a bad player? No. I think it means that either

a) His grasp on English worse than I thought, or
b) He is a hypocrite.

His newest "project" is about raiding in all blues and proving that it can be done. It is a social project. He is a guild leader....a social position in a social organization, organizing social activities. Sure, he tries to be anti-social about certain aspects, but you could see his disappointment when he did not have enough people show up to do his first blue raid. Social. Social. Social.

I am the first to admit that I am a social player. It is the main reason I play WoW. To play with other people I enjoy hanging around with. Without being social, I may as well go play Final Fantasy 7 or something. I love the inside jokes with my small group of friends. For example, one of my friends thinks I have a porn voice. When in vent, I usually enter the channel by saying "Did someone order a large sausage pizza?" It always gets a laugh.....and it is social.

Being a dick is just as social as being a nice person. You are still socializing, just in a negative way.

There is not reason to lump social players in with bad players, because if that were the case we would all be "bad".

Talking to people does not make you gem for leave all of your gear unenchanted or ungemmed.

Being social does not make you equip spellpower gear as a Deathknight

Being friendly towards people does not make you melee as a Boomkin.

Being social is being social. Being bad is being bad. The people who do not realize that are idiots, or lemmings swinging from Gevlons greasy sack.

/end rant.

Real Azeroth Heroes (Part 9)

Darraxus presents: Real Azeroth Heroes

(Real Azeroth Heroes)

Today we salute you Mr. Weird Accents on the Letters of your name Guy

(Weird Accents on your name yeah!)

You think your name is incredibly unique. With the umlauts and other foreign marks over your name, you are a true master of language.

(Except I cant invite you to group now)

Just like you, I enjoy a good unique name

(Arthaspwnzers with some periods over the letters and squigglys elsewhere)

So, keep being a bastion of naming knowledge. Everyone who tries to invite you manually or whisper you will REALLY appreciate it.

(Still cant invite you to a fucking group guy!)

So Mr. Weird Accents on the Letters of your name Guy, have a bud on me and enjoy never getting into a raid. The only thing worse than your gear is you name.

(Mr. Weird Accents on your name Guyyyyyyyyyy!)

On a side note, I really fucking hate all of those special characters. Seriously. They are irritating. And I don't know how to type them.

Of Rotations and Milking the Cash Cow

Ok, so the new patch is out. There are some pretty significant changes for Prot Warriors....because they were OP in PVP. When did you ever think that you would hear that. Prot Warrior OP in PVP. Just sounds weird. Regardless, once again Arena is screwing PvE for the rest of us. The changes are....>Drumroll Please.....

Devastate damage increased from 100 percent weapon damage to 120 percent weapon damage.

Obviously this is a buff, but where does that put our rotation now? Is devastate better than Revenge at this point? Should we be spamming devastate and using shield slam when it is up? I am sure Tankingtips will have an article before too long.

Amount of Block Value used for shield damage lowered....again. Threat increased by 30 percent.

Apparently, shield slams were still too strong in PvP after the last nerfs went down. Obviously a nerf for PVE damage. However, it will probably be a threat boost. Now all we need is a shield slam cleave and we will be awesome at AOE threat.

Warbringer no longer breaks snares (charge and intercept, intervene is unchanged).

Not game breaking for PVE, but it was nice to get out of traps and other bullshit.

Damage done by Concusion blow lowered by 50 percent.

This is actually a big nerf for PvE as well as PvP. Concussion blow did a good chunk of damage and was generally used as part of the normal threat rotation. Back to being mostly just a stun as far as I am concerned.

Overall, I am not quite sure how to feel about the changes. I will certainly need to try them out before making final judgement.

Suck Suck Suck......

That is the sound Blizzard sucking the WoW cash cow dry. They are announcing that they plan to make the Auction House available via and app on I-Phones. Seriously. Like there arent enough undercutters. Now people will be able to undercut from work. Basically, if you dont have it and are competitive on the auction house now, you will be irrelevant in the future.

Oh yeah, they are going to charge for this service....which I wont be paying for. Plus I dont even have an I-Phone. My wife does. I don't. At least I made a ton of money before this comes out.

The only thing this will truly do is allow more people to be AH campers. And probably get a few people fired for AH at work.

Anyways, that is my take, what do you think of the new (and potential) changes. What is your new rotation? Will you get milked by Blizzard like a cat (you can milk anything with nipples right?) If you don't have nipples are you immune to this latest money making scheme by Blizzard?

ALMOST THAR........ALMOST THARRRRR.

For some reason, that scene always amused me. So nonchalant about and attempt to save the entire Rebel Alliance. Perhaps that is why he just impacted on the surface.

Enough of Starwars. I am nearly level 60 on my Horde refer a friend Duo. Getting to do the dungeon quests helped out a ton. I basically went from 57-59 just by turning in the quests that I did.
I have run Strat so many times that it is making me sick. Sick like Jong's DPS rotation.
I have been getting SOME gear for my Warrior, but tons more for Nomnomhealz the Dead. He must have died about 10 times last night. Once again in completly ridiculous ways I might add. Seriously, I think there is something coded into the game that finds ammusent in killing Nomnoms. He finds every Eye of Naxxramas. Every patrol. Every crate with bugs and shit in it. It is almost as if he thinks he is a tank.
I want to level my Warrior to 80 mostly though instances. I will however make sure to do enough quests in Hellfire to catch up my gear. And my weapon skill and defense. It shouldnt take too long I think.
I imagine the run to 80 will be very quick since I will be mostly instancing. Instant queues are win.
When I rolled Warrbringer I picked up Inscription and Herbalism. I think I am going to drop Herbalism. It is at like 40 right now. I have mostly bought herbs to make glyphs and level my inscription. Now I have to decide what to pick up as a secondary profession. Perhaps I will go with JC for the big stamina gems.
The home stretch is here.....and im ALMOST THARRRRR.

GOOD MORNING......Bah Humbug

That is usually my wife's cheery greeting to me in the morning.....and me being a scrooge. Man I am not a morning person...at all. In the first few minutes after I wake up, there is a mean filter on my mouth. It makes me want to be MEAN.

The weekend in WoW turned out pretty decently. Last night, I got a few things done that made me a happy tank. First, I did the weekly after missing last week's. It was XT Deconstructor. I actually picked up several achivements just doing those first two bosses in Ulduar. The funny thing is that I went as DPS. I even got to engineer FL after we killed his ass.

I also finally GOT MY FUCKING TANKING BOOTS. They finally dropped out of FoS. I will never go back in there on purpose again. Seriously. I was very worried that the shitty ret paladin wearing defense boots was going to try and ninja them.

On my Druid, I got ToC5 as the Daily twice. You really find out who can't stay out of bad. People dying to poison or bladestorms were the norm. One of the runs seemed SOOOOO slow....thanks to a ret pally doing 800 dps. How this is even possibly, I dont even know.

I also got in some leveling on Warrbringer and Nomnomhealz. They went from 45-52 so far in Stratholme. Nomnom has died about a dozen times.......only 1 time did Warrbringer die. Nomnom is a magnet for death. He would die in every conceivable way possible. One of the more hilarious times was when he somehow got off of follow in the slaughterhouse....and the bone guards that come out of the Zigguarat came right at him, pasting him on the floor. Now I know why Nomnoms is a fair bit behind Warrbringer for xp. He cant stop dying!

Overall, it was a very good weekend. How was yours.
